If you’ve known me for 5 minutes or more, you know that my love for avocados, specifically avocado toast, runs deep. Although I’m one of those people who could eat the same thing every day, I still like to change it up. This is where tahini toast comes into play – it’s the bomb!

Before we dive into the recipes, how about we get a little familiar with what tahini is. I know the name alone sounds weird and intimidating, but it’s not. All it is is sesame seed paste. You know how peanut butter is a paste/spread made from peanuts? Tahini is the same thing, except made from sesame seeds. Chances are, you’ve had it before without even realizing it – tahini is a major component in hummus!

All 3 recipes have tahini as a base layer. Spread it on like PB and nearly half of the work is done. Depending on your mood, you may want just one, or all three. They each have their on respective flavors + taste, but I encourage you to try them all, as they are all sooooo good.

This basic banana toast is exactly what it sounds like. Good for those of you who are a bit hesitant and less adventurous. Still delicious, though. Tahini + bananas + honey or agave, + maybe a little sprinkle of chopped walnuts or pistachios, if you’re into that kind of thing.

The spiced pear is a step up from the basic banana and soo tasty. Tahini + pear + cinnamon + nutmeg + red pepper flakes + drizzle of honey/ agave.

Lastly, this mediterranean toast has all of my favorites –  Tahini + kalamata olive + cherry tomato + minced garlic + lemon zest + sea salt. If you’re anything like me, then you’ll top this one with a disgusting amount of nutritional yeast.

It’s always nice to change it up, am I right?! Give these a try the next time you’re craving something different- you’ll be glad ya did!
